Activation of MitID app on new device

When you install a new MitID app on your phone or tablet, you need to activate it. This applies if you reinstall the MitID app after deleting it or if you switch to a new device. There are three ways to activate your new MitID app.

 

Transfer the MitID app to a new device

If you already have the MitID app, you can transfer it to a new device by scanning a QR code from your existing app. This makes it quick and easy to activate the new MitID app on your new device.

Activate the MitID app with your passport

You can activate the MitID app by scanning your passport and your face directly in the app. This is an alternative if you do not want to physically attend the High Commissioner’s Office to activate the new MitID app.

Activate the MitID app with activation code

The High Commissioner’s Office can issue you an activation code, which you enter in the app to activate it. Issuance of an activation code requires a physical presence at the The High Commissioner’s Office - and it is necessary to book an appointment beforehand.
